I replied to an ad, seller is asking $5 ea. The lady that I spoke to took my phone # and said that, "they're not the real old ones."

Just curious as to what they actually have. The mr. will call me back later, as he was out.

If they are just the plain clad I'll offer mine to him for less than half that so that he can make a good profit...wish I would have held on to the 150 I just dumped at my CU.

Unless they have an S Mintmark they are not Silver

After checking the S Mints are 40% silver
but there are also some Non Silver S Mint Dollars.
So you need to know what your looking aT.

beware if your New.

Some teelers call all the "big dollars" silver dollars. Just because they are selling them for $5 doesn't mean they are selling. Non-silver are worth...........$1.

Well, spoke to the gentleman selling the Ikes and he told me that he had mostly bicentennials, saved from his anniversary...he's definately not a collector because he wasn't sure what a "mint mark" was.
He was interested in buying my clad Ikes but he obviously hasn't a clue to their value (or lack of.)

I just picked up a $1000 bag in St Louis. I will be happy to sell him all he wants for that price and I can probably pay the shipping. LOL
