El Matador found at a thrift store, not the bull ring!

I stopped at one of my local thrift stores today while garage sale hunting, and found this beautiful sculpture! It is heavy probably around 10+ pounds. I don't believe that it is made out of bronze, but of some other type of metal and plaster. It has a Copyright symbol and a name that I cannot make out, and a number I believe it is 54. Do any of you recognize the artist or can make out the signature? I think that the word is 'Ron", but I'm not sure. Your time and help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
