Along with all the trash ( mostly nails ) I was able to find me a IMG_20170620_183140137.webp
And not more than a few inch away this popped out. Thought it was play money until my wife was looking at it and said it was a pfennig. IMG_20170621_221204368.webpIMG_20170621_221254000.webp.
How do I clean it up so I might be able to find the date.

Nice silver coin! Kind of weird to find a Nazi Germany coin in the USA, probably a soldier brought it back as a souvenir of the war. If you look carefully you can see that the eagle is holding a Swastika, the date is supposed to be right below it.

Congrats on that sweet merc !! Your pfennig looks like a nazi one,is there a swastika under the eagle.?

Whup ,coinman beat me 8-)

Nice finds, you might give electrolysis a try.

There is one but it's hard to see, you have to hold it just so in order to see it.

great merc and the other one just shows that you never know what you will find

Nice finds. Not sure how much luck you'll have cleaning the German coin. It's zinc and you're liable to do more harm than good.

I like finding foreign coins. Congratulations on both.

Nice finds. I have had some success with soaking in lemon juice and using a small fine brass brush. Soak a little then brush a little. Repeat until you can make out the date. With the condition it is in you can't hurt it if you go slow.

Very cool!!!! :icon_thumleft:
