Padlock logo - what is this?

Found this padlock about 5' away from the grapeshot ball I found on Sunday and I have also pulled an 1820-1830s button from here too. I hooked this up in an electrolysis setup yesterday and it uncovered a logo on the front this morning. I'd like to find out more about it though because part of the logo is missing so I'm not sure what it is exactly.

My first thought was CS or US for Civil War ties, but now it looks more like an F to me maybe for the first letter.

any ideas on the manufacturer or date? The body of the lock is 2" high, 2.25" wide...
