Eliminator Coil

No where one is for sale...Help on this one, the coil sounds off when an object is passed over the top and also sounds off on the side...Is this normal or is the coil defective...What I have read, there should be no sound except on the bottom in the all metal mode.

Not sure if the eliminator coil is special but all my coils sound off on the top, bottom and sides.

The Eliminator should not be nearly as sensitive on the top as it is on the bottom. It will still sound off if the target is only an inch or so above the coil, but a coin should not hit if 4 or 5 inches above.
