Emerald Isle

Hi folks!!

I am coming down from Pennsylvania to do a little vacationing in Emerald Isle in a couple months (we come down every year and I would love to move down there some day!!)

Anyway, beside the obvious beach detecting, does anyone know of any other good places to swing the coil?

Hi Tom,

I live in Cape Carteret, across the bridge from Emerald isle. I have been living in Carteret County for about 27 years but it have been mostly in Beaufort and Morehead City. A big portion of Carteret County is the Croatan National Forest and that's off limits unless one could get permission. I work a lot of overtime so I don't have much time for research let alone detecting. Keep posting, somebody is bound to help you. Maybe we can meet for a hunt when you get here. We are going to be there the week of July 16th. I really can't wait!!

Actually, I don't know if I will get as much detecting done this year as I have in the past couple years - having a 2 year is definitely changing my priorities and my free time (not that I am complaining one bit!!!!!!)
