Encased 1943 Mercury Dime from American Currencies
I bought this for a song. It is a gold plated 1943 Mercury dime “encased on what appears to be a silver piece. The front has boats, eagle, Indian, fort and tee pees. The back has an eagle, the capitol and inscribed American Currencies. There is no mark for silver although it appears to look like a silver proof. It is 2” in diameter, 1/8” thick and weighs 1.9 oz. I can’t find American Currencies in a search because it is such a generic word everything about coins comes up. Does anyone know anything about this company and maybe a link? Thanks in advance.
