These are just a few of my finds from my recent trip to England. I'll have better photos and descriptions when I actually receive them. They stay in England until they're evaluated and released or purchased by a museum. I don't think I found anything that will qualify for that! :laughing7:. My buddy did however, but, I'll let him post if he wishes. These photos are just a small sample of what I found. I found the spur first, and then the small broken off part about and half hour and 50 feet away! Only found the one "hammie" which is just a broken half of one. Lot's of "greenie's" and buttons not pictured. One button is a Royal Medical Corps button that still has some gilt on it. I'll know more about them when I get the evaluation report. Some of you will probably know all about them. I'm still a bit ignorant about English coins and relics. Oh, the holed coin is called a "slick Willie" love token. Also, the item in the upper right of the first and second photo is a lead seal. It had some cool writing on it, so, I kept it. Most of the other lead got tossed. The item at the bottom left is also lead. It's a token from medieval times.

Nice finds cudamark. Congrats and thanks for sharing.

Looks like you found some great, old coinage. Way to go on a successful trip!!

That Charles II silver is in great shape and a rare find! Nice finds!

Yes that Charles II 1680 Fourpence is a rare beast to find. They range from 1670-84 but I have found ZERO of this denomination. Although it has little monetary value, maybe $50:dontknow: Which to me is kind of irrelevant.

To the OP, that's a good one for the collection.

Congrats on the nice finds! :icon_thumleft:

Thanks, That one was found in a plowed potato field. In a paddock field a couple of days earlier, I found two William and Mary tin coins. I hear those are real hard to find in decent shape too.....especially plowed fields. I suppose fertilizer and the plow wreaks havoc on that metal. I don't seem to have a photo of those right now. I'll post them when I have them in hand. The larger one is slick, but, the smaller one has nice detail. That was the only way I could I.D. the larger one (which I found first) They were only a foot apart and have the same off-metal insert in the center of the coin.

Some beautiful saves. Congrats

Yeap, they have a copper-plug which is meant to be where the value was at! They normally flake to pieces, so they may need stabilizing. As you say a very rare find even in what we grade as 'fair' (below Fine) condition which unlike all other coins has a decent value.

Looks like a very good adventure Cuda! But from now on you just can't take off and not tells us... :)

Actually, I did mention it before I left. I think it was here on one of Crusader's posts and in the Equinox forum.

Great pouch from England, Cudamark. A really nice mixture of what is there. Dirt so old you can smell it...I can't wait to go back myself. Cheers, Sub 8-)

Nice finds Cuda, thanks for sharing!!! "D"
