I spotted the deliberate mistake. The Civil War was 17th century & not 16th century as stated on the first page.

:D He was probaly thinking 1600's & 17th Century at the same time
and it came out 16th century :D

Either that or he's one of those who think 1600's was 16th 17oo's 17th. etc.

ummm...its a good story, i read that when digging the canal nr by, they found more treasure
