Engraved silver ring and Indian head cent

I found this ring and coin at a country school that was built in 1870. Both of the finds were at the same depth and about two inches apart.
Based on the wear of the coin, and its date, I suspect that they were probably both lost at the same time. Perhaps in the late 1870's.
The ring is made of "coin" silver and has the characteristics of engraved love tokens of that time period.
I'm currently doing research on the name on the ring. I was able to find an individual with the same first initial and last name but with a different middle initial. This person lived less than three miles from the school in 1874. Perhaps it was a son since the ring was most likely lost by a young kid. If further developments can be made I will post an update.

Awesome finds. Can't get more personable than that ring. It would be awesome to find the family.
