Epic can have a lot of meanings. Age, quantity, location, etc. I consider this hunt epic since it was in a public park in a heavily populated area. There are a lot of detectorists in the area...

This park, well, is hidden. I didn't even know it was there until a friends retirement party.

The area of the finds was rather large, about 100'x50' and perhaps would represent the edge of a sports field. The first was the '43 Merc. I was stoked since I'd never been to this park before. Next came a '34 Washington at 4", and I'm like huh...ok. Then a '36. Nice! '62 really?! '35 are you kidding me?!?! And finally a '48. I only hunted about an hour then had to go home to the fam and company, but I'm hoping there are a couple more great finds to be had. Not bad for a public park! I was drunk on silver today. I've never found 5 quarters in a hunt. Early Washingtons are difficult to come by and 3 is stellar.

Happy hunting

Wow! That's darn near a cache of silver quarters! Congrats! That would be EPIC to me too!

Ya know!, yet another great silver day steve, this nonsense is getting boring already lol, jk!!

Great hunt, best $1.35 I've seen in a while!!!

Sometimes it's an advantage to being at a place for the first time. You don't get hung up over what area to be searching. Or fall
into old patterns.

WTG!

That is incredible for a park or an old lot. Congrats

Great finds and it only reinforced my belief of your ties to the NJSM. New Jersey Silver Mafia.

I'd say a return trip is on the horizon! Nice silver:thumbsup:

That's a lot of big silvers Scraps. Another great effort. You're making it look routine

Yeah wish it was like that Now, I detected with a guy that's been doing it since the 70s and said if you didn't come home with 25 or more silver coins, you were doing something wrong!

No way. I'm just a simple guy from New Joisey. I don't know nuttin' about no Silver Mafia.

Yeah, I still haven't found my first silver Washington. Congrats!

Lol. That's the beauty of this hobby. You just never know. I wanted to simply get some fresh air for an hour. You never know what's going to happen on your next hunt, next area, next hole....

Whatta hobby Abe. Don't ya think?! Lol

Nice going Steve.
Them silver washingtons are harder for me to find then LCs..

Only you George can pop out LC's like Washington Q's baby! Lol.

That's one great day. You not only have a good metal detector, but you know how to use it. Which machine were you using?

Wow don't think I've ever seen anyone post 5 silver quarters from the same hunt! I found 2 Seated dimes today (a first for me!) and thought I was going good. :laughing7:

5 Washingtons and a Merc for an hours hunt. Can't imagine how you talked yourself into going home. Awesome job!

Thx Don.I generally use the CTX 3030 unless it's nice clean ground. In this case I was using the CTX and man did it sort through the junk. With a few hundred hours on it I consider it an extension on my arm.

Congrats on the gold BtW
