Went to some new sites today. Was on the lookout for any yellow jackets nests & was lucky to avoid 3 of them today.
Seems like we're in for an early fall as they seemed all over the place. 2 Of them were in the walls of the cellar holes & 1 was in the ground by the frame of a truck.
1st hit of the day was a 16 Wheatie by some stairs and 1/2 a musket ball. That was all I was able to pull from that site.
Moved on down the road to a 2nd site and my 1st hit was a Barber Dime, Sweet! Moved around the hole until I saw nest #1 and retreated back to another side & then saw nest #2. No more hits from there so moved onto another site.
At the next site I really had to work the site hard & way in the back finally got a good signal & out pops KG II! Not much was left there so hit another site.
This last place gave up the goodies: CT Copper (that I thought was a button until I cleaned it), 1910 V Nickel, 1 No date Buffalo, 1 Merc., 1889 IH, & 6 Wheaties (14, 16, 17, 19 & 2 Blanks), Sash Buckle and a Silver Plated Spoon (Niagara Falls Silver Co. 1877).
The designed button, 2 flat buttons, Clip & the 03 IH came from my last hunt with Dave & Todd.
HH,
Roger
