No memory effect on Lithium Ion batteries. Recharge after each use no matter how depleted. In fact, avoid depleting it all the way frequently for longer life. Have never gotten close to running it on empty even after a full day of non stop detecting (about 10 hours).

Agree. My concerns about have a detector that had to be "charged" as opposed to using AA battery's were unfounded, the life of a charge on the EQ has been great, after a full day or two of detecting, I just plug it in to top it off.
