HI All,

I recently purchased a Nox 900 from Bart 4 months ago and I love it. However, during my last hunt, the Headphones 85 model somehow broke (the headband came apart from the headband base and I can't get it to stay in now). Even though the headphones still work, I can't keep them on my head now since they slip off. Does anyone know if the headphones are under warranty from Minelab? I looked on their website and couldn't find anything about headphones. Thank you in advance for any feedback!

When my 800 headphones failed after a year, it was replaced under warranty. I suspect the same applies to the 900. The battery on the 900 only has a 6 month warranty however. I just had to replace mine.

Thanks for your reply. I did contact Minelab and they had me send it to their IL workshop. Upon inspection, they decided to ship me a new pair. Happy with their customer service and turnaround time.

Minelab repair is in-house now and very good! Glad to hear this to confirm!

I can expect the battery on the 900 to fail anytime after 6 months??? IF so, good reason to go back to AA's

No way to do that as far as I know. I wouldn't want to have to dismantle the detector constantly to replace them either. Cheaper and easier in the long run to go with the L-ion battery.

What I meant is that if the 900"s battery may need to be replaced at almost anytime, I could always fire up other detectors I have that uses AA. We'll just wait and see, mine could last forever, the older we are the shorter a "lifetime" warranty would be I guess, just saying....all good.

Or do what I did and get the RNB add-on battery pack for when the factory battery goes flat during a hunt.
