Got this in a roll. Any input?
For the reasons stated by Frank I'm thinking it looks like someone held the edge of it against a grinding wheel. I've been collecting coins for 50 years but errors aren't my strong point. Someone else may have a better idea.It is sometimes hard for me and many others to determine the validity of a clip on some coins whether a curved clip or a straight clip and your' coin is no exception. In honesty, I don't believe it is due to 1) it being ragged, 2) appearing as if it has reeding superimposed inside the clip and 3) the fact that there is a smaller clip about 180 degrees opposite of the bigger one. However, I would wait for some more opinions and post the coin on some other coin sites for opinions. Frank
Very informative. Thank you all for the lesson.
