1st - I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard Salteemaiden1! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) - members may have more success helping you (your location may help, etc.)...

2nd - If no one can identify your find - you might consider posting your pictures on ROCKS/GEMS for more exposure...

Welcome to Tnet!!! Congrats!!!

Welcome from Illinois!

Looks like you have crushed part of your rock. Do you have a gold pan or similar to separate the heavy's? Welcome to Tnet!

Saltee, what you have there is pyrite and mica, but that's not to
say there is no gold present in the rock.

You'll need to crush it to near powder, then pan it out and see
if there is any gold.

Welcome to the site...:hello:

Welcome to the forum from the Blue Mountains of northeastern Oregon! Good luck in identifying your rock!
