I am headed out to NC and then headed over to the coast and then up to Virginia Beach has anyone here hunted the beach. I would be intest in getting together with someone for a hunt I will be headed that way in May. I will be getting more information on which motel or hotel I will be staying at but I want to be on the beach. So I can get out and detect. Email me and let me know if you are intest in hoooking up......mlayers

I'm in Va Beach. I'm just starting off in MD, but by May I should have a few hours under my belt. There are alot of MD here so you won't be alone on the beach, you can hunt 24hrs because the lights off the hotels lights up the beach pretty good, but a head lamp will help. I'm going to be looking for some good spots in the area. Hope to find some older farms out in Suffolk to get permission to hunt. Keep me posted on your dates that you'll be here, if I'm here (I'm military) we'll go hunting.

OK thanks Mike I Will do that I know we will be spending 2 or 3 days there. right now I am looking at May 20 or 21 to start and I have to head home on the 23 to head to Athens, MI for the GPAA common gold operations.Going to try my luck there....Matt

I was there in November. There is a whole group of hunters on this site who hunt there regularly. Nice bunch of people. I'm sure they will chime in.

Don't forget about Sandbridge, just south of Virginia Beach. It's a neat little beach, but gets a lot of visitors.
