Found this button in a field that has been giving up Indian head cents, a shield nickel and two civil war era general service buttons along with other mid to late 1800s items. It is a two piece button and the back is missing. Also it's the size of a dime. Thanks!

Nice find. Looks like an old steam train button. May have been from a railroad employee overall.

According to the Pictorial Overall Button book, there are well over 100 different overall buttons with trains on them.

thanks it's nothing special but I was just curious. I need to get back to finding mor civil war buttons at this site.
