excal 2 maiden voyage down at the river

well...been dabblin at water tectin this summer.

last place i was at gettin nuthin... other guy w a deep

machine shows me his stuff. geez.

so it was time for a quality water machine...

aint found water gold since january in fla...

n gettin mighty itchy. so when i saw

this baby on craigslist i just hadta

BUT the nearest real beach is 75 mi away.

and i just hadta try her out under pressure

make sure no leaks. she was tested in a bathtub

but that want very deep.

sooooo i know of a overpass over a small river

thats used as a swimming hole.

in these harder times people seem to be rediscovering

the free swimmin vs fees of 3 to 8 dollars a pop

at the muni pool.

off to said hole. she flowin pretty fast due to last night

storms. well we had tried excal 2 in the yard on a dry

run seem ok. now at the water n gettin her wet

20 min test period of dunkin her to deeper n deeper

depths. makin absolutely sure it dont leak anywhere.

finally ready to make some finds. fish lure. fish knife. junk

not great but not bad for a first try. she a great addition

to my minelab collection.

and the waters colder than a witches u kno what.

Wow the things that people lose at a swimming hole. I know fishing goes on there too.....

It's funny how everybody takes pictures of their metal detectors (me included). The poses look like a model spread for a magazine .

I hope to see gold on your next hunt.

thanks jp. mee 2. i dream gold daily.

but most days are land hunting only.

and the gold ratio there aint that good.

also i have to admit that the minelab family photo

includes the LANDLUBBER EXCAL. that older sword logo

excal leaks and i cant seem to fixit. so basically

is a heavy soverign .it sees some use as a splashproof

or during rain. as old as it is i dont think it worth full

repair.

i love taking detector photos. u must or everyone

would say..yeah sure u have an excal2 or whatever.

gotta prove it. same w finds.

in some ways detector photos are prettier than girls.

nice to gaze on something that brings in money

insteada always askin 4 more

Congrads on the New excal, sweet looking machine. Good to see you hit the river and the surprises. I got a small river to detect, lots of tubers on this one, long run, about 3 miles..going to hit at end of season, should be intersting, lots of history also...thanks for sharing the new excal, very nice arsenal......joe
