I made my own Excalibur balanced shaft its cheap and very simple.You dont have to have a welder you can use a handle from a Sovereign GT or Minelab SD.All you need is a drill a hacksaw and of you go heres how, its in Metric measurements but is easy to convert to inches if you need to. good luck Seeya Neilo

Nice setup. I made my very own with your instructions, thank you.....but mine has slack where the lower shaft slides in. Too much clearance. Where did you get the shaft from?
