EXPLORER ll vs. Excal on beach

Does anyone have an opinion on dry and wet sand advantages of the Excal vs. the Explore ll? I know the Exp. is killer on silver. But how do they compare on gold and depth. I've been trying to test them but the sanded in conditions are frustrating. Thanks in advance!

The Excal wins in the gold department. EX II on the silver. Plus the Excal you don't have to worry about dropping.
