Thinking about one of these machines, what performance differences, depth and functions are there. Which one would be the best for normal hunting, schools, parks, woods, no beach. Also how are these machines with emi. Thanks Tom

Same guts but the II has upgrades... a black coil (same coil just black) , dual digital ID, built in metal detector stand, finer settings for the threshold, & 1/4 headphone jack. Better to get a II unless you can absolutely steal an XS.

Noise cancel, or noise cancel in combination with a reduction in sens. will deal with most interference.
