OK, I've only had an Explorer XS so I have to ask this question: Will the carbon fiber lower shaft for an Explorer II fit into the upper shaft of an XS. My coils are getting pretty wobbly and as far as I can tell its from the lower shaft where the coil mounts. It's made up of like 4 parts including a couple plastic pins which I think are the main culprit. I noticed the carbon fiber shaft doesn't have all of that crap at the coil end. It's worth 42 bucks to me to get one if it fits. Or if anyone else has experienced this with an XS and knows another fix I'd be glad to hear it.

Also, I FINALLY managed to bust my armrest last year! I'm getting tired of epoxying it and am looking for a replacement. I remember seeing one a guy makes and sells that is made of aluminum and is pretty slick in that it also incoroporates a stand and a 1/4" headphone adapter in it. But I can't find a link to it anymore, but saw a picture of it on another forum (which I can't post to here in Iraq).

Here's a pic of what I'm looking for:

If anybody can hook me up with some info I'd appreciate it.

I found where the armrest is sold!!!

But my questions about the lower shaft still stands!!! (SEE ABOVE POST)

Again, thanks for any info/tips that can be provided.

Ans alot of people asking that exact question.

I have two of the XS models and both of the lower rods wobble with the 10" coil, especially when I extend it out a ways. I know the pins your talking about also.
The cheapest fix would be to drill through that lower section about the pin height but from side to side and not front to back. Make sure and miss the channel where the cable goes. put in a nylon bolt, I think 1/8" or 3/16" is the size, and tighten it up.
A more expensive solution but better overall fix is to buy the newer carbon rod that is on the EXII and SE. These are very good rods and the cable gets routed up through the lower rods center instead of being squeezed into a channel, a much nicer setup. Also, not sure how tall you are, but I bought myself the tall man lower rods in carbon and they help alot at the beach where I hunt, help with the slope angles I mean. The tall man rods are about 3" longer.
Hope this helps,
Neil
