I found this at an old barn site that was torn down some time in the 50's. seems like an odd object to end up in a barn a half mile from any known houses in the middle of a field. any ideas what a thing like this would be used for in a depression era barn?

Even though my grandmother wore glasses, she used an magnifying glass to help her read her bible, newspapers, mail, etc. Perhaps whoever lost that pocket magnifying glass used it for daily reading use.

I suppose your right, I was thinking barn related but it could easily have been something someone carried with them that just happened to get lost on a trip to the barn
