Did a little beach combing this afternoon on the beach across the street from my apartment and found this chunk of encrusted material.

I noticed the coin edge and chipped away the encrustation with a cobble and my jackknife, expecting a Memorial cent of some sort. The coin left a mirror impression in its material, though the coin itself was hard to read.

The reverse is mostly gone and the obverse is barely readable. I brought it home and could just barely make out the date, which to me looks like 1913.

The reverse. I can just barely make out the "one cent" and "United States of America" inside the faint wreath.

That is a GREAT eyeball find my friend. I would even keep the crusty thing it came from as the impression is way cool too. Jeepers Creepers you got some wonderful Peepers.:hello:

I kept the encrustation too for its cool factor.
