Who says you can't find anything from good 'ole fashioned eyeballin. I was walking in downtown Baltimore yesterday and found this wheatie tails-side up. Couldn't believe it was just sitting there, almost walked past it but I saw those stalks of wheat out of the corner of my eye.

Too bad you didn't get to it a little earlier. "Put it in your shoe and good luck will follow you all the day through". The penny almost ran out of luck.

Cool. My oldest coin find so far is a 1940 nickel with nice patina that I found while eyeballing a field's bumpy surface while my detecting buddy used the detector (we share one). 1940 not very old compared to what others find, but special to me as it's my husband's birth year & a surface find! Andi

Cool... I eyeballed a 1944 wheatie yesterday in ShopRite parking lot!

Well at least your getting copper pennys. I dug up 17 pennys that are rotting most from the 80s, they arnt made to last. But heck at least I got out to dig today. Wife wasnt home lol, the honey do list is on hold LOL. :laughing9: :laughing9: :dontknow:

I always keep my eyes out for coins...one day I was walking to my parking garage and I started finding pennies. I don't remember the exact count but I found 20 or so and a few were wheaties. I started looking around to see if was a setup since it was like following a trail..lol.

Nice find

My 9yo found a wheatie(1947) last week as an eyeball find.He was so happy he had me put it in a 2x2 holder for him ;D

Hehe... My girlfriend found a merc in the gutter not too long ago. Luckily she has a nerd boyfriend who talks about old coins every day, so she recognized it immediately. :)

nice find. I like the close up pic too. What camera are you using?
