I finally found another Drained Lake to search.

Now all I need is the rain to stop so it can Drain completly.

Went out this morning to meet my Friend Mike from Berks county,
to Look over the area and Gain Permission. By the time I arrived
Mike already Got us permission. but the rain just wouldn't stop.
So we took a walk along the edge of the lake bottom, and picked up
golf balls.

My take 5 Golf Balls.

and what I thought was a Fishing Rod, but it turned out to be just the handle.

Tomorrow is suppose to be Sunny, So Guess where We'll be ;D

Re: Eyeballing in the Rain.

I was fishing a lake that they lowered considerably...walked across this one cove and found a wallet with $315.00 in it.Paper's in there were no longer ledgable...My buddy and I dried it out(in halve's) and sent it back to the Treasury in exchange for a check....Don't know what you'll find below normal lake level...Good Luck!!

Re: Eyeballing in the Rain.

How old do you think the lake is? Is it on a golf course? Is it drained for a reason or did the damn break or did it just dry up? Im dying to hunt around some lakes but can find out when or if they are being lowerd for this reason or that....

I can't find any good Info on its History, other then I was told by someone, they heard it was a 1920,s Resort.

The age of a line of Homes, which resemble Camps would Confirm this.
as the earliest is 1920

Years ago I heard it was built on the site of an Indian village.

and yesterday I heard there should be the Foundation of a Home in it also.

The Lake is supposed to be drained for one Month.

From the Local News Paper :

The project is set to begin within two weeks, he said.

The reservoir cleaning project will include sediment removal in the boat channel. Workers will clean the catch beams, which catch sediment as it travels through the basins.

The project is being partially funded through $43,000 in grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the state Emergency Management Agency. Krause said the cost to the borough should be around $7,000, but the borough is still working with contractors on final prices.

The gates of the dam and spillway in the reservoir are also scheduled to be repaired, and the project should take about a month, Krause said.

The work was originally set to begin in October 2005, but was delayed due to bad weather. The borough had to reapply when the required permits expired, Krause said.

The non-pressurized dry fire hydrants on the far end of the reservoir will be active during the work. The dry hydrants allow access to the water for fire companies with pumper trucks.

“Our concern was fire protection,” Krause said.

He also said the project would be a boon to fisherman, because the fish are forced into the shallow section of the lake.

OH, no Golf Course. Just someone Hitting them in the Lake.

And there are a Couple large Piles of Dirt from the Creek,
there to serach also. only problem with that, I can't Spread it out & search it.
Just the outer Layer.
But since it's all Borough Property, It will probably be left there till they find a use for it.

Re: Eyeballing in the Rain. turned to Detecting Finally

I finally am getting around to Posting my Finds from this site.

The lake itself, turned out to be useless at this time.
people who remember swimming there say it's been destroyed.
and it is obvious there had been 6 to 8 feet of soil on top
of the original lake bottom. it is unknown at this time what they will
do about that, if anything.
finds I did make in there were mostly trash and Memorial pennies.
sometimes I would pull a Golf Ball out, while digging targets.

the Grassy areas are Producing a little better, but not enough to make me happy.

My Take so far :

Sinkers & Lures, part of a SEARS 8 Track Player,
and 20 Golf Balls.

a 1935 Mercury Dime.

And Wheats : 1909 (Can't see V.D.B. if there)
1924
1936
1940
1941
1957-D

a PENN Tennis Ball

a Hard Ball with CL Marked on it
