Hubby stopped by his Aunt's house yesterday for a visit. She is the only one left from his father's side of the family other than cousins. Aunt Edna and Uncle Bill are really great folks. Aunt Edna was a twin, but her twin died as an infant and Aunt Edna never was able to have children.

Well, Ron was showing her the coins and buttons he recently found (I posted them on TNet) and then she pulled out these items, posted below....she gave them to him and now will be in the Family Heirloom Collection.

These items belonged to Aunt Edna's Aunt Emma (Ron's Great Aunt). She married a man who travelled the world. I believe he was in the Merchant Marines. I have to look at the family files to verify. They did not have any children either. The little broach with the pic....that's Great Aunt Emma. I love that little broach. The first pic is everything. I put the mercury dime in the photo so you can tell the size of each item. And that hair barrett...so cute!

Thanks for looking,
Annmarie

WOW, those are some sweet "freebies" They look to be in great shape. What a nice gift. I would have them cased so they will be protected. Definitely a sweet surprise

Thank you Crazyjarhead.....

That is my intentions. Since my dau has officially moved out into her own place...we are taking her old room and making it my sewing room / genealogy room / and metal detecting / coin collecting room. It's getting a new paint job and shelves everywhere. I plan to make a box to store the family heirlooms in.

I really want to preserve that broach...I love it!

NICE GIFTS FROM YOUR FAMILY. SOMETHING TO BE PROUD OF .

Wow, those are some beautiful keepsakes you have now. I'd be staring at them all day.
