found this on a civil war battle site. Any ideas? There were also some old houses in the area during the war. The object has been folded in half. It has a hole through the center which looks a little rough like it may have ripped off of something.

Thanks

My thought is a concho or some type of ornamentation on a saddle.

Could be the wheel for wick adjustment of an old kerosene lamp. At least I once had one were it looks like this.
