NOooo Diamond Jim I don't believe that you can train a snake . You can study them and learn their habits and reactions and handle them accordingly. I have handled them for a long time and don't trust them ,sometimes I get real close but I know what mode that they are in . A Florida Indigo will kill or run off any other snake in the area including the rattle snakes. They are highly protected now so you can't put them in areas that you like to go and not be bothered by rattlers . I have 3 or 4 Indigo adults on this 20 acre patch I'm on . Young are relocated occasionaly to other areas.
RVBvetter;the reason I call her fang is that she is an EmeraldTree Boa ,spends her whole life in the canopy waiting for a bird to fly by.She has huge long fangs to puncture the feathers on parrots. The strike faster than most snakes and can give a nasty bite . So I call her Fang so I don't forget what she is no matter how much she buddies up to me .Wonderful pet ,everybody should have a pair. Thanks Bob
