Hey all,

Don't you love those days when your first dig is a wheat penny? It always gives me so much hope that it's going to be a good hunt.

Worked some sidewalk strips in my neighborhood fighting through the snowfall and partially frozen ground the whole way. My fingers went numb for the second half of the hunt. This might be my only chance to get out this weekend and I didn't want to give it up.

It was probably my most productive sidewalk strips hunt ever. I'm still shocked I found 3 silvers and 14 wheats outside of just one house.

Here are my finds:

Dates are:
-Merc (41)
-Rosie (48S)
-War Nickel (45S)
-14 Wheats (20S, 28S, 34, 35, 35D, 36S, 41D, 42S, 49D, 49S, 52D, 53S, 55D, 57D)

What a fun day. It gives me a dime trifecta (of sorts, one was Canadian [emoji6]) in my neighborhood this week

I'm actually on my way to the UPS store to pick up my CTX right now, I know the learning curve will be steep but I've got my fingers crossed that it will be worth it.

Happy hunting this weekend!

Love it when your in the wheat right off the bat. Congrats.

Those sidewalk strips? Given the chance, never pass them up, you just never know.

Congrats on the silver, and best of luck on the learning curve with the CTX.

Thanks pj! Thankfully a friend has already offered to take me out and provide a few pointers. Looking forward to giving it a whirl this week!

congrats on the awesome day! actually I have had two days start off with wheaties and thought that it was going to be an awesome day, unfortunately, wasn't the case but it was a great feeling

I hear ya. It's not uncommon for me to find 6-10 wheats in a day with no silver. Good luck out there!

That must have been one house which had many pockets with holes in them . Great start with all those silvers and 14 wheats.
