I know the numbered circle is a dial of some sorts I guess . Other stuff no idea. Found at 1890s site

I’m not sure either, but that dial is A Lot better than the nails I’ve been finding. I figured out my problem: “Good things come to those who wait…” I’m not waiting, I swing every day. Hence, no good things for me. I hate accurate truisms! 😊 thanks for showing

Can't see all of the form of your piece, but looks like it might be a a safety guard for a piece of machinery. Maybe a belt, chain, pulley, etc.
