I went back to the Public parking lot abutting a field where I found the KG3 yesterday. I did about an hour total and found a bonanza of clad and a dozen wheats. So I went to another section.
More clad! I was digging a deeper signal and muttered while I was digging "this is a waste of time". 20 seconds later I was holding a copper in my hand. Go figure.
She's total toast. Can't get a date for sure but it looks like a 1814 classic head. I know it's a classic head since there's a gap in the stars at Liberties' forehead. The impurities in the planchets the Mint used for the Classic Head Large Cents explains why so many are toast.

It was a good time. Enjoy
