Thought I'd share some of mine and invite everybody to throw theirs on here as well. The piece at lower right is a piece of shaped bone that I put there to fill in space. Looks like an undrilled pendant, maybe. Who knows?

My son found these two. We were walking up a small dried creek bed. I had walked over the yellow one, when he said "Here's a piece of flint." It was shady. I had no glasses on. He tossed it to me before I even got turned around good, probably thinking it was nothing. I missed it of course and heard it tink on the gravel. I picked it up and looked it over and told him what a nice find it was. Fortunately, it wasn't damaged. I like the alternate flaking. Sort of like a reaming tool.

A couple more.

These two are my favorites, especially the black one. I like it as much as any point that I've found. I marked the only area that isn't flaked, also heavily worn, not necessarily from use, but still worn. Both of these came off the same gravel bar, on different trips.

Excellent collection of well used flake tools. That big black one is exceptional.Looks like it had many functions. I too think they used original flake as long as they could, then started small flakings. You can sure see use wear in your pics. Great pics nice and clear.

Really nice , I can see why that ones your favorite I’ll have to dig a few of my favorites out and take some pics when I get home

Sandchip: What point types do you find in that context ? Pictures if possible ?

These came from different creeks and areas, so point types and time periods vary widely, but usually Archaic.

Really cool Sandchip! The pics are superb.

those are some of my favorite things to find, simple little tools

This one with the sparkles is one of my favorites.

Very nice collection

Picked up this non-descript flake the other day. Much to my surprise the one edge is nicely worked.

This one has got to be my favorite20190308_155704.webp20190308_171808.webp

Do you reckon it was made from a heavily patinated pick-up flake, or did it just lay out in the elements undisturbed for ages? It's a beauty with almost a bison skull shape to it.

Some of those could be called a limace in my opinion.

Nope....it was totally brown when it was made and ended up in the ground eventually where the minerals in the soil gave it that awesome patina. Some places around here have points that are entirely brown and others have points that are entirely white, no matter what age they are.....it's kind of strange.

This is one of my absolute favorite surface finds...ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1554243661.334419.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1554243678.766860.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1554243696.849386.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1554243708.865839.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1554243722.185248.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1554243736.017581.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1554243753.196500.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1554243768.988346.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1554243782.587449.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1554243798.838110.webp
Every edge is worked. This is a true multi-tool. It is made of BLACK ((with clouds of grey) NORMANSKILL CHERT (my best guess). It’s a knife, a scraper and a SPOKE-SHAVE. A classic 3 in 1 tool. Found in SE MASS. On a hill next to a cranberry bog. The hill was cleared, removed and turned into a solar farm.
I’d like to know if it has an equal from anyone out there.
