Got permission to hunt a cleared lot in Downtown Charleston today and can't believe the history that came out of the hole. Wasn't sure it was an actual Slave Tag till I got home and ran a toothbrush over it and started to see the number 120 on it. I thought, this is too small to be a Slave Tag. If it is one, there should be hole right here at the top. I poked it with a toothpick and there was a hole. Oh my GOD!!!!!!!! I lightly brushed it off for another minute and saw "Charleston" at the top. I still can't believe it!!!!! I can see the date ends in "2" and can kind of see the letters of what kind of job this man had but I'm not going to touch it again. It'll be professionally cleaned because my hands would never stop shaking enough to make it right. This is insane!!!

As soon as I figured out what it was I stopped and put the toothbrush down. This is a find of a lifetime and I'll have a professional clean it and straighten it for me. I still can't believe it!!!!

I've never even seen a picture of one of these. Also nice preliminary info on the data on the tag. I would never have thought it might have the bearer's talents/training on it.
It definitely deserves the pro clean and perhaps a value estimate as well? My finger's on the banner button too!
