few pics of old farm site

My son and I went to an old farm site today. The detecting was a bear.....the dirt is littered with old pieces of barns and stuff. Didnt find any coinage as I had hoped. Did find an old beat up door knob and a beat up metal kodak film canister....very cool, but in very bad shape. Also found 8 golf balls. Go figure. Below is a few pics of the site.

Seems the axle thingy is a flat belt speed reduction device.
Wonder what kind of old machinery might have been there...
Or was it brought in and dumped there?
