The other day my wife and I made some cool finds in a field on our farm.
Steve in PA mentioned that based on the finds we should also probably run across a large cent. He was right!!
So goes the curse.....I can't get a date off of any coins I dig, lol. This large cent was between two pieces of old iron. Took me about 10 minutes of scanning with different settings before I decided to go ahead and dig it. I could barely distinguish that there was something else in the signal. I am glad I decided to dig.

Nice find Oldhand!

Congratualtions on the LC! :occasion14:

Nice find. A Large Cent makes for a good outing.

Congrats! Sonething so cool about the large cents. My 38 I dug a few weeks ago shares the same look. Just for a reference of dating it.

Finding an LC in a farm field is a real good reason to revisit that farm field,, lol
Congratulations

Congrats on the old copper. I spend more time digging and not as much deciding, I think you can find more goodies that way

Nice find, I'm thinking that is a Classic Head Cent 1808-1814?

I don't think so, I can kinda see stars all the way around.

As best I can count it appears to be 13 stars. we "think" we can see 1832....however, this is highly subjective to old eyes looking at it really hard

Definitely the correct era. Has the stars, and liberty head....hope you dig up some more!
