As the T Shaped Fields were a little disappointing we needed to get back on track & finishing the Field of 500 seemed our best bet. It's no longer barley stubble & its been disced up a little, making it easier on the swing.
We started the morning slow finishing the last edge of the site in 3 hours - only getting 7 scrappies.
As the last time we did the most productive area was last year just before the barley went in, we decided to give it another go, now that its disced up.
Very surprised to start averaging 12 scrappies a hour! Although many were small & broken.
No silver coins today but my first Roman Silver Hair Pin made up for it. (A previous one I reported was silver & gold gilt & they thought it was Medieval)
Others bits after 6 hours gridding:
44 Scrappies
3 Hob Nails
Roman Tweezers
Bit of a Roman Disc Brooch
Bit of a Roman Bracelet
