Kayaked a new area on the river tonight. Was nearly skunked until I spotted an open spot of shoreline full of oyster shell and no Phragmites. The invasive Phragmites grass is everywhere along the river and is probably hiding a lot of good sites. It was definitely an old dump site and who knows what else. Lots of iron but only two nonferrous targets. An early decorative leather mount and the 1888 Dime.

Thanks. Just checked my other finds from a couple other spots I hit. Turns out I also got a Draped Bust Half Cent that is barely identifiable

Nice water finds Toasted. Thanks for sharing...

Hi, nice finds. Congrats on the nice old silver coin.:icon_thumright: That would have made my day finding a coin like that

Nice work, congrats! :occasion14:

Nice saves. Congrats

Nice save on the seated, and in good condition!

Toasted do you know how many seated silvers you’ve found over the years? I’m guessing it’s a staggering amount. Well done

Nice finds , what river do you kayak ? I spend a lot of time on the Chester

Thanks. Ive found 49 from at least 15 different spots. Found around 20 from one spot alone. Been blessed with some good early sites both on land and in water. Early Barbers, Seated and Spanish are certainly more prevalent to newer silvers along my waterways. Ive only found 1 merc and 1 rosie in all my water hunts since last year as compared to dozens of older

Thanks. I dont really want to say which river but I have had luck in multiple ones so Id bet any undeveloped section of waterway along the eastern shore(of which there is plenty) has great potential

Great job on the Seated coin. Water, or dirt, they are always nice to find.
