I was lucky enough to get out on all 3 days of this long weekend.
Met up with JCobb to some spots he scoped out. And it was TOTALLY worth the 100+ temps
Ended up hunting 3 places Ive never hunted and ALL of them turned out.
I can say this weekend was one of my most productive since I started, detecting.
On Sat, we found an old run down hotel
I pulled out
2 Rosies - 1948/1952
2 Mercs - 1941/1942
Buffalo Nickel - 1925
And 6 Wheaties
On Sun, we hit a baseball field off the beaten path, mainly to see if there were any old coins
it was pretty trash free and coin free, so we were digging any target we could.
I got a solid 91-92 and thought it was funny that I hadnt dug any coins in 20 minutes and I get this.
I dug down about half and inch and pulled out this heavy James Avery Ring!!
I went over to show my buddie and we just stood there looking at it, I started heading back toward that area and not less than 10 Minutes
I got a signal bouncing from 69-70, but sometimes would give a high tone, I dug down and saw freakin GOLD!. I was in totally shock. Finally got my first Gold ring for the year!
Its marked "Blu-Ray 14K" its right on 6.5 grams
Sooooo On Monday
Met up with JCobb again and hit an old park that we hadnt hunted before, it was BLAZING HOT that day too, so we tried to stick to being around Trees
Right off the bat I ended up finding a 63 Rosie, it was awesome to know there was something there worth digging.
Then i got a real iffy signal, 74-75 @ 8", So normally a Zinc penny wouldnt fall that deep, Dug it out and out popped what I thought was a little washer,
but turned out to be a 1918 super worn Merc! I went over to tell my buddy and he pulls out a solid sterling spoon he had just found.
I cant say enough what an awesome freakin weekend this was
thanks for lookin!
