Finally a RING! Sterling, but heavy and I'll take it!

Along with a couple wheats and aobut 75 cents in modern coinage.

This is the first ring I have dug in a very long time that is worth anything. Stone is red and no doubt just a rhinestone. But the ring is clearly marked Sterling so that is a very good thing!

Also found the guts of a pocketwatch, and the body of a Slaymaker Super lock. A very nice night of detecting!

I don't know about the rhinestone part Beetle. That's too nice of a ring! My vote is Garnet!

My Grandfather left me a ring he had that has a Garnet in it. It matches up pretty close to this stone. I'm stopping by the jewelers later today. I gotta agree with ya on this one!

Just stopped by my jewelers and he said what I originally thought... it's just a red glass stone (you can see some pretty good wear on it up close).

Anyway, he polished it up and it sure does look nice. Will try to post up a new pic later today!
