Finally found "something"

Well I finally found something. Nothing great but something at least, other than cans and such. Looks like something off of a wagon or horse to me. Found in woods on an OLD road. Can somebody say for sure what it is? one end of the crossbar is broken on the end. Looks like both ends used to be around the ring. Oh, and a couple more nails lol. Thanks

Yup... probebly old horse tack... a mouth bit. The link will show you one of many that it could have looked like whole. Been made like this forever and still are made this way. The area you found it in may be the best clue to hold old it is... for example, when you start finding other items there that can be ID'd you'll have a better idea about the old iron stuff like this.

Keep digging. You might find a whole one. They are great for displaying on a wall.
