With most of the ground frozen I've been pushed onto the beach to keep busy. Detected one of the hardest hit beaches in the most populous city in the state. Didn't expect much. But after nearly 2 years of detecting I finally found a Wheat penny, 2 actually in 1 hour. I've found plenty of bucket list-er coins but the Wheat was elusive. They had recently pushed all the dirt up from the shoreline to the edge of the grass. I stayed in the area where they finished their push.
A 1944 then a 1923. Couldn't believe that these have been missed how many times?
Final haul was $3 even. 9 quarters, 5 dimes, 25 pennies. Probably the last outing of the season, predicting a Nor'Easter to slam us this weekend.
