Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Finally got the chance to use the omega 8000 i ordered from Miller MDZ,Nothing to exciting found but this detector performs very well for its price range. I only took it for a spin around the front yard that i have pounded to death with the Fisher F4 and the delta 4000 but i still found some pretty good stuff,Depths were anywhere between 2 inches to 5 inches. Found two 22 shell casings,Two screw on bottle caps, two soda cans(not pictured),a pull tab, piece of a broken key, ball of tin foil and other misc. foil items/can slaw.Piece of a broken key,a 1980 penny,2001 penny,Vermont state quarter, and two small aluminum siding clippings.

Nothing of real value but had alot of fun playing with my new machine,Still digging every repeatable signal until i learn this detector,My only complaint so far is that the Omega lags after coming out of pinpoint and it identifies 22 caliber rifle casings as nickels in the 55-57 range.Im sure im going to love this machine after i get some hours on it.Thanks for looking!!

Don't you just love learning a new machine? I'm in the same boat as you, as I'm also breaking in a new purchase. Just bought a new White's VX3 a couple of days ago. So far my biggest complant is that it might work too well. I think that this detector will pick up your mind if you were thinking about a piece of foil. Anyhow, I wish you much of luck on the learning curve and hope that you have many good finds.

Believe it or not the omega isnt that much of a learning curve compared to my other two detectors,It truly is a Ground Balance and go type of machine with a few extra bells and whistles,I like the notch feature and also the ability to choose tones in AT mode as well as Disc mode. The Ground Grab feature and the ability to manually ground balance it is nice as well.
