Hit one of my buddy’s permissions this morning, the digging didn’t suck too bad. The first inch was frozen but after that it was beautiful. Anyway, didn’t get much but what I got was old and I dug what I thought was a Canadian fish scale nickel but it turns out to be a 1855 Wilhelm Koenig Dutch 5 cent silver, didn’t even know they existed and now I have one. Also dug 2 IHP 1867 and a 1860 fatty, a Rhode Island state militia button, a nice scroll worked tombac and other assorted buttons.
Thanks for lookin’

Tiny silver coin, nice save, Joe!

WTG Nice save indeed ..Thanks always for sharing your finds with us..

That Dutch silver is super cool, and the RI button interesting. Congrats!

I’ve never found a fatty, except for my ex wife.

You should change your name to “Wicked brave Dave” or “ soon to be dead Dave “ LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice to see you picked up right where you left off Joe! That silver is awesome- looks to be about the size of a half-dime?? And that 67 Indian looks like it'll clean up real well- worth a few bucks too- Strong work!

Very cool stuff Mr. Dirt. Such a tiny silver! Looks like a very productive hunt.

Excellent finds - congrats !

That Dutch coin is awesome! Good saves!

Glad to see Joe-Dirt is finally back in action. It's been a long cold winter. Gary

That’s what I’m talkin about. Great job JD.

Productive well rounded first hunt, along with getting a first. Well done.

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Nice variety of finds Bob. I like that Rhode Island button.

I saw "Thawed" in the title and it got my attention. What a brutal time of the year in the north east! My soil froze about the second weekend of January. I went out Saturday 1/9 and threw in the towel after I hit silver and couldn't get the shovel in the ground. Cheers to warmer weather! Nice finds too!

Nice to get back out, isn't it? That's a great start to your season!
