My yard gave up another goody thanks to the Manticore. A button, I can't read the back mark to get an age though. Green crud is preventing that. Is that gilt on the back?

What's my best course of action to clean off the crud to read the back mark?

Tried to clean it up a bit with lemon juice. I don't think the back mark will come through to read.
