Well, Claudia and I finally went for our first search at Galveston, Texas for 2010. We went for an early hunt from 7am to 9am. Man, we have got to get back in shape for all that bending and squatting, but it felt good to be out detecting again.
Claudia is back right where she left off by finding her usual Condom Wrappers (in the beach sand), except this one was new and still had the condom in the package. I wonder what I can sell it for on Ebay, LOL. Our pictures of our finds are posted below.
Glad to be back, Guy and Claudia

Man, I am Gettin' Old, cause I didn't even think of that. I was too busy tryin' to run over that huge cockroach with that steam roller.

Good thing you found that fish hook before someone got it between the toes.

Which beach were you on? I take it they were all dry sand finds.

hmm... that's one place I thought about going to, Stewart, but maybe the crowds are still not there.
Been checking the webcams looking for crowds, probably too early to hunt yet. :dontknow:

I check the Stewart beach cam daily and today showed better activity than in the past, it's slowly getting better. I'll give it a couple of weeks then hit it....HH

Just note, all of that sand was replentished after Hurricane IKE, probably not going to be much of anything all the way down West Beach past where the condos are being renovated. Pilings had sand washouts three to five feet in places. I saw 14 yard Dumpers hauling sand from the beach beyond the state park area, so the entire beach along the seawall has been covered for a couple of feet.
