Beach & Shallow Water Hunting
Today I decided to go an hour South. The report I read said the surf would be one to two feet. "NOt". It was about five feet so going into the water was out of the question. There were two really good deep cuts on the beach. We all have read that when you hit a good spot just keep digging and looking and eventually something good will appear. Well, I dug for about 4 hours. I could not believe all the hits I was getting in two small areas of the cuts. Both times the targets were at the end of the cut where they were pushed along the sand and back out to sea. I found one small silver earring and a water logged Seiko watch. All the clad and a dog chain were extra. I also dug a ton of nails, bobby pins and other things like sinkers, hooks and fishing lures. I could have stayed a few more hours and still had tons of hits to dig but the rain came and I had to leave.

I don't know if you know Carlin park in Jupiter Florida. I went there first. I must say it was a sad day when I reached the beach. It was covered with newly replenished sand. It is at least 6 ft high and will take a long time go be taken out unless we get one more good winter storm. That was a great place to metal detect before they put the new sand. All in all it was a fun day even though I did not find anything great. IMG_2129 (1).webpIMG_2130.webp

I don't know what you are talking about, nothing great.

That is one of the finest collection of sinkers I've seen in a long time. The red jig head is a rare collectors item.

...and the key, it looks like it could be a Medco- and they ONLY go to belongings of the uber rich!

My gosh, you hit the mother lode...

And twice a week, on every Thursday that watch will be spot on.

Well thank you. I didn't see the true value. Lol

hey you had a good time, what more do you want?

Just nice to have targets, and you did well....

I have hunts were you can't buy a target....even trash is welcome...

It looks like you a very productive and fun hunt!

slider, which beach and what detector did you use? Five bucks in clad is a pretty nice haul.

I kept digging figuring I had to be near all the goodies but it didn't work out that way. The dog choker was a big surprise.

Yeah not a whole lot of "value" there but it's the hunt just as much as the find that is exciting and enticing. At least you weren't hunting a sterile beach. Come to So Cal, that's what you'll get right now.
We can't always (and 90% of the time don't) find valuables much more than a quarter.
