Finds for first month using White's Coinmaster Pro
Includes 9 dimes, 1 elongated Mickey Mouse cent, 2 nickels, 2 quarters, 28 Lincoln Memorials, and 1 Canadian cent.
Also found today my first silver using the above. But not probably what most people think of as silver, and certainly the only one of its kind I have found ever: an electrical fuse with silver ends. A little over an inch long, with heavy silver anode/cathode. Kind of surprised me.
Have been using a local high school park for my experimenting. Have found square nails (c. 1890) as well as IH's, Mercs, Roosies, and even a SLQ nearby. Several rings as well, mostly junk. Still the site has promise.
Still having a very difficult time pinpointing with the Coinmaster Pro. Too sensitive. I prefer to hunt in all-metal mode when possible, and this machine will pick up (literally and litterally) a wadded gum wrapper at 4 inches deep!
Have been spending most of my time learning the detector and where the signals are coming from, which is difficult when the shade trees drain the soil of all available moisture, and turn the ground into concrete. Roots also a problem.
But have an arrangement with a friend who owns property nearby where one $400 FV gold coin cache has already been found, and another gold coin cache is known to be. Also possible to have at least one other $400 gold coin cache, as there were 3 children and the father apparently buried a cache for each child, although we currently have data for only 2 of the 3. Coins were buried about 1932-33, and kids given verbal instructions on how to find their individual cache. Only one of which has currently been found.
In addition, the only son was a coin collector specializing in gold coins, do may have planted some himself. According to the neighbors, he was known to have been seen digging near the house without dressing for the occasion.
In other news, hope to get my old White's 5000D back shortly from the shop. Have missed its easy pinpointing ability a lot!
