Took my XP Deus to an 1800's home site that is EXTREMELY iron infested and I personally have pounded over the years with numerous high end detectors - along with everyone else too!

Made some adjustments to the settings which is listed in the picture and made some amazing finds! 1904 Barber Dime and Indian Wars General Service Eagle Button!

Congratulations Master Treasure Hunter Ed! Those are indeed some awesome finds and speak volumes not only for your ability, but also the lightning fast speed of the Deus!

how did the tones sound with reactivity@ 5?

how did the tones sound with reactivity@ 5?

ecoast, I am running 5 tones 195@0-7, 298@7-38, 298@38-50,603@50-70 and 800@77-97 with 98-99 notched out and Audio Response at 5. This way no matter how trashy it is and fast you are running the Reactivity your tones will be very distinguishable. As you can see the majority of your iron junk is going to be a very low tone and your mid tones will jump out from those low tones and your high tones will definitely stand out from everything. Nothing good comes in at 98-99 vdi (it's mostly wrap around iron) so just notch it out. Of course your going to have your junk that comes in at the mid tones and high tones with some crackling or a soft bland mid or high tone but when you get those solid repeatable hard crisp mid and high tones definitely dig. The funny thing about people and myself missing those iron targets in the pic like the flat iron and horse shoe etc... those targets was only about 4- 5inches deep so with a normal detector people would have had these discriminated out or they would have rung as low iron hit and would be skipped over in an area like this but when I put the Deus at Reactivity 5 which absolutely kills the depth of the Deus it was seeing these large shallow iron targets as deep and therefore coming in at a high tone! Kind of like when your running any other detector or your Deus at Reactivity1, 2 or 3 and you get a large deep iron target super deep it will sometimes come in as a high tone depending on your soil conditions and rust around it...lol! In these super iron infested areas dont really worry about killing the depth by running at reactivity 5 because the iron trash in the ground is going to kill your depth anyways. Its more of a pick a few good targets out of 100's of bad targets all mixed together...lol.

very good; thanks...as a new user, I might have thought the audio would have been 'clipped' a bit

Where you using any descrim?

Ed was this a typo? :
" I am running 5 tones 195@0-7, 298@7-38, 298@38-50,603@50-70 and 800@77-97"

Jim, No it's not a typo and actually you could run 4 tones. When I originally made this program I had the 3rd tone at 350 but didnt like it( I wanted to basically hear 3 tones that were very distinctive low - mid - high to keep it simple) so I just matched the 2nd tone which is basically the first tone because discrimination is set at 7. There is probably a better way to set this up but these settings come from trial and error...lol and a lot of them are made when im actually out detecting and then just save them.
